Hi, there!
It’s Ruth from the Old Mill Crafters Guild in Allentown, NJ. By popular demand, we have brought back the Glass Fusing Workshop!
Judy, the teacher, is a friend whose glass artwork I admire. I’ve taken several of her classes and I love the resulting pieces I’ve made. If you’ve been to the
shop, you’ve seen the most recent one I did, a dragonfly to represent my studio, Dragonfly Design Studio. I hope you’ll be interested in learning this beautiful art form.
At this Workshop, you will learn the basics of glass fusing, including cutting and adhering glass pieces to an approximately 8" x 10” sheet of glass. You will have the
choice of many colors of glass to make an abstract, freeform piece that Judy will take to her studio and fire so that the various pieces of glass will fuse flat. You may also sketch out a simple
pattern or outline to follow. When Judy returns your work to the shop for you to pick up, you will be impressed with the beauty of your artwork! You can display it in front of a window, as I do, to
see the brilliant colors of the glass.
The Workshop Fee is $55 for this 2-hour
class. $25 is the class fee, and $30 is for materials, which Judy will provide: a backing sheet of glass, and many many glass pieces in a range of colors. You will be
able to use her glass cutting and other tools to cut your shapes. You may wish to bring safety goggles and a work apron. The fee also includes firing your art in her studio kiln.
Class size is limited to 8 students, with a minimum age of 16,
available on a first come/first served basis. Purchase your ticket today to secure your spot! Click below to buy tickets online, or – to save on online service fees – register
